The University of Szeged is one of the most distinguished universities in Hungary and in Central Europe. It is located in the southern Hungarian town, Szeged. With 12 faculties, 27 thousand students and more than 6 thousand employees, this institution is covering almost the entire field of sciences and arts: natural sciences, law, economics, medicine, pharmacy, health sciences, teacher training, agriculture, food engineering, fine arts and music. The university offers training on 5 levels, has post secondary studies, bachelor and master degrees, PhD programs and postgraduate training. There are several disciplines available for foreign students: medicine in English and German, law in French and German. The university also has a special program for those interested in our country: the Hungarian studies. Satisfying the needs for lifelong learning, the university offers quite a few programs for adults.

It is worth to mention the outstanding scientific activity of our university. Scientists like the Nobel Prize laureate Albert Szent-Gyorgyi and the world famous physicist Zoltan Bay, or the Wolf-prized mathematician Laszlo Lovasz all worked in our university. The Institute of Education offers teacher training, post-graduate programs for practicing teachers and PhD program in educational sciences.

Elevhalsan organises general health services to children and youth in preschool and school, in the municipality of Ostersund, in the county of Jamtland, in mid Sweden.

Elevhalsan consists of 50 co-workers: educational psychologists, special education teachers, social workers, school nurses and school doctors.

The organisation is multidisciplinary, focusing on prevention and intervention in the milieu surrounding children identified as being in special needs.

The staff of Elevhalsan supports children, parents and teachers through methods of consultation, supervision, assessment, counseling and parental training as well as group and organisational development and teacher training.

At Elevhalsan there is extensive experience from working with consultational models as tools for creating change and inclusion, since the late eighties. Inclusion is a cornerstone and guiding value and vision at Elevhälsan.

» General description of the organisation

Pedverket AS Pedagogisk Verkstad is an independent institution, founded to facilitate teachers achievement of good practice concerning cognitive and inclusive education. We offer in-service teacher training and seminars in Norway and international. Our primary focus has been the Concept Teaching Model (CTM), and the comprehensive theory of learning on which the CTM is based. Pedverket has offered materials and in service teacher training since 1998. Teaching Material developed is available in English, and some other European languages.

Currently we also offer in service training (30 credits) in school psychology practise, including both standardised and dynamic assessment. The latest approach added to our portfolio is the Das & Naglieri; Cognitive Assessment System (CAS); which we offer in a Norwegian version. Together with this goes a comprehensive activity of workshops and sertification.
